Firstly, compliments on a fine website. I'm a researcher documenting the lost 1941-1966 history of 14 squadron ATC Gisborne. The 1940s period is especially barren and I wonder if any forum members can cast any light here? Have read Jungle Bomber and possess available 14 sqn files (10 pics in all).
I'm aware there was common membership of both squadrons in the 1940s e.g. P/O Tom "Tommy" Kent was founding 14 sqn adjutant and later CO, while also Intel Officer for 30 squadron. He may have gone up to the islands briefly. Tiny White also appears to have had common membership. There were doubtless others. We know nothing about our founding CO's background.
I'm producing 'King's Crew 3', a PowerPoint history programme of 14 Squadron to premiere at the 70th anniversary celebrations in Gisborne next February. Any info, pics or history on common membership of each squadron or related topics would be welcome. You can email me on rexbunn@bigpond.com Thanks, Rex Bunn
